Been so ill the past few days I haven't even been near the computer! Coughing and sneezing a plenty and lots of blankets and hot drinks! Added to my misery we had burst water pipes!

I just wanted to wish all my lovely internet friends a wonderful Xmas and New Year before I dive into the pre-holiday madness! I will not be around much, just checking in now and again, but rest assured I have a little surprise for the New Year which will start it off with lots of smiles I hope :)

Vintage Strawberry Shortcake cardigan pdf pattern

All finished another pattern available on Ravelry or etsy. This is my own pattern that fits Vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls. It can be scaled up to fit other dolls too by using different weights of yarn and larger needles. I have made them in 4 ply yarn for Lati yellow and DK yarn for Blythe.

I made a lot of these cardigans for sale and thought it would be nice to share the pattern to let other dolly lovers have a go at making their own.

This is knit on 2mm needles with very fine lace-weight or kid mohair yarn.

Just in time for Xmas I have made a little festive dress to delight your Dollies! Made from pure wool hand-knitted into a short sweater dress that fastens at the back with a vintage glass button. Trimmed with creamy marabou feather trim and tiny sequin flowers.

I have enough supplies to make ten of these dresses so I will take orders on a first come first served basis and make them up as they are ordered rather than making the whole batch.
They are $30 each + postage and if ordered in time I will make sure they are finished and posted before the last Xmas posting date of 10th December.

Little stars!!

Finished a lot of the new Blythe collection (still plenty more in my project boxes!!) and have taken some pics. I am loving all these sparkles and luxury yarns and I'm knee deep in marabou and gold stars :)
I won't waffle on about all the different yarns and trims I have used but have used cashmere, alpaca, mohair, my own hand spun, marabou, lurex, metallic vinyl and LOTS of gold stars to name just a few materials. I do hope that you like my Xmas creations, I have LOVED making them :)
If anyone ever wants to know where I have got certain supplies from please ask, I like to promote the people I buy from and share the gems I find!

I will be listing these items from the beginning of next week in batches at times to allow for the different time zones. I will continue to list until all my yarn is used up or the last Xmas posting date arrives, whichever is the soonest!

Xmas collection is coming along!

I am working really hard at the moment on my Blythe doll Xmas Collection. I have been spinning some lovely soft cashmere and wool blend roving and searching all over the place for lovely supplies to make a wonderful luxurious collection of clothes for the holidays :) I am up to my knees in sparkles and twinkles and sumptuous loveliness! Hopefully will get some nice pics in the next few days of the first batch of goodies but for now I have a sneaky peek pic taken on my phone for you to get a glimpse at what Polly will be offering your dolly for Xmas!

New Pattern!!!!

I have just finished writing the new pattern! The slouchy roll neck cardigan that I have made LOTS of is now available as a pdf download on Ravelry. This is knit using a DK weight yarn (or worsted/8ply for US) It is a very adaptable pattern that I think is easy to knit. You can start at the yoke and not have a roll neck, make it longer or shorter.....the possibilities are endless :)
I have knit it in various yarns including noro silk garden lite, bamboo and soya, merino and also my own handspun. Each has its own character and charm.

I do hope you enjoy knitting this, please though, as with the other pattern if you have any problems please contact me. I am new to writing patterns and may make mistakes or not explain things properly sometimes! I haven't put the tension on this as it seemed to vary according to the yarn I used. So sometimes the cardi came out bigger, sometimes smaller. The dolls didn't seem to care as long as they looked stylish :)

The new hens are settling in lovely and have now got official names.
(From bottom pic to top)
We have Teasy-Weasy aka Peach who is a Columbine and should lay blue eggs at some point (we think she is keeping us waiting to build up the excitement!)
Then we have Zelda, a Cou Cou who is very pretty, very greedy and rules the roost.
Next is Chicken, who is a Copper Black and a bit nervous with the most beautiful feathers!
And last but by no means least is Xena (my little warrior princess) who is a Rhode Black and makes a BIG noise when she is annoyed!

Here hoping we have a bit more luck now...please!

Deep Purple and Pink Champagne

I have made a little collection around the handspun I made the other week. I created a little crochet cap with pure wool big pom pom and little ties at the side. To match this I have knit some little sweater dresses in a lovely deep purple and a pale 'champagne' pink.
I have 5 hats and 5 dresses so far but I may have a couple more maybe later on.

Lovely and snuggly and beautiful colours :)

Joseph's Amazing coat and hat sets

This weekend I will be listing 4 sets in this collection. I have just managed to squeeze 4 out of the yarn I spun. It's so soft and wonderfully bright! I felt this yarn just HAD to be turned into coats. They will sell for $65 per set and I will list randomly over the weekend rather than all at once to give people from different time zones more chance of getting one if they are interested.
The coats have lovely handmade rainbow heart buttons decorating the front and laser cut felt flowers and butterflies dotted around. The silver highlights give a bit of sparkle to them :)

I will also be listing the hanspun sweater dress and hat set along with these that I have put preview pics of on flickr

Sorry, a bit more sad stuff

On Thursday last week ANOTHER neighbours dog managed to get into our garden, tear, shred and basically destroy our chicken pen and kill Barbara and Penny :(
I feel so so sad about it all.

We are in the process of putting HEAVY duty wire on the pen and repairing the hen house ready to fetch some more ladies on Friday. I will not be beaten by this! The owner of the dog just did not realise the damage a dog can do when its natural instincts kick in. She was very upset and shocked at the way he had demolished our hard work and killed the ladies in their nest boxes. I am confident that they understand now the importance of keeping their dog confined to their garden. I just wish everyone who has a dog would understand this.

So I am busy going all around my house and garden putting steel mesh in EVERY hole and gap no matter how small. It will soon be like a prison. No getting in and no getting out. To anyone thinking of getting chickens please think of me and know that dogs can SHRED chicken wire as though it was made of thread and rip wood to pieces. Just to kill and then leave the bodies there for me to find.

Look out for the new ladies this weekend and say a little prayer for poor Barbara and Penny :(

Love and Hate Collection

Based on some lovely tattoo inspired fabric I have created a little collection for your dollies to enjoy!

First is a dress with a crochet bodice and fabric skirt. Fastening with vintage beads at the front and trimmed with lace and sequins around the edge and a bow/ button/ charm at the waistband.

Next is a crochet dress with lace hem and gorgeous 'love' button at the waist. With 'flame' vintage sequins to finish off the decoration.

To go with these pieces I have made 4 felted red capes and 4 black mohair hats with matching decor. The hats are not tight so are suitable for your girls with more fluffy hair :)

Fresh off the spinning wheel is my new handspun. I have had this roving for ages staring at me whispering 'spin me! spin me!' Well eventually I have! This will be turned into something special for Blythe, I have an idea in my head which I hope will work :)
I am having my first full day off work today with no jobs or errands to do and I really looking forward to it. I am planning on making up some fabric bundles for Jollypolly and maybe some more yarn/patterns. The nights are drawing in so quickly and its my most creative/productive time of the year. Winter does have it's good points!

This Friday will be Granny Madge's 90th birthday!!! We are going over to see her and give her lots of fuss and flowers. I will see if she is up to a photo maybe, she is doing well at the moment and managing by herself (with lots of visits and shopping etc done by my Mum and Dad) and seems quite happy. She is knitting a little but she does forget patterns so just makes little squares to stitch into kitty blankets :)

Well I'm off to enjoy my day, I hope you have a good one too!!

The Twilight Collection

This Sunday around 5pm ish UK time I will be listing my new Twilight collection in my etsy shop. I fancied doing a sort of grey and gloomy but pretty little collection and found some lovely owl and bat buttons which started it all off. I made some pure wool felted capes which have crocheted edges and beads and buttons scattered all over them. Then we have a collection of different hats all with one or two owl buttons on them. The crochet dress has frilled lace hem, ribbon and charm trim and vintage sequins sewn around the bottom. Metallic crocheted edges finish them off beautifully. I have 4 hats, 6 capes and 5 dresses for sale. All are different in their own way to make them one of a kind :)

It has been such a busy week and time has flown, the nights are darker (perfect for knitting and spinning!) and it's getting colder. I sort of like the thought of hibernating for a bit though and relish all the creative stuff I can do when the garden doesn't need my attention :)

My goodness I am so tired! Wonderful day yesterday though! Met lots of lovely people and dollies and saw so much dolly creativeness :) The piles of lovely dolly dresses hats and sweaters was AMAZING!!
Must admit to spending most of the day behind my stall hence the aching back today and then the train journey home was a bit hairy as me and Tom had to RUN through Birmingham station to get our connecting train to Derby. We literally had 2 minutes to do it! I am getting far too old to run like that! BUT, it was worth it and now I have had a good nights sleep and a lazy Sunday ahead of me :D
I have an etsy update later when I will be listing the 2 OOAK sets I promised. I will put some preview pics on flickr soon. Also The Rule Britannia collection will be for sale at the same time.

Everything is done and ready for Blythcon and all I need to do now is get myself preened :)
Sad news this week as my sister can't come with me due to illness so my poor son Tom is now accompanying me. He will be good to carry my suitcase!! Can't wait to meet all of you that will be in Oxford on Saturday! Please come and have a natter with me, or Tom...he's good at nattering :)

For all my other dolly friends who are too far away to get to Blythecon uk, I have a little surprise. I have made 2 special OOAK sets that I am going to list on etsy on Sunday specially for the non-blythecon-ukers :) They are secret till Sunday when I will put pics on flickr as I list them. I will also list a few of the items from The Rule Britannia collection too ;) Not quite sure what time it will be as it depends on how tired I am from Saturday. Probably early eveining here 5 - 6pm ish UK time.

Nearly all ready!

Getting really excited now about Blythecon next weekend! I have had a bit of a setback this week due to a very painful shoulder leading to a stiff neck and headaches. I have rested up a bit (I can't rest for long!) and am just finishing up the duffle coats now and deciding which dollies to take with me. I am traveling on the early morning train from Derby to Oxford so if I look a bit bleary eyed please forgive me! I am so excited about meeting everyone I will probably be red faced and babbling like a mad woman...LOL
I will be keeping a few items from this collection to list on Sunday 3rd October in my etsy shop for those folk who like it and can't get to Oxford.
Right...back I go to the duffle coats...3 more to go :)

I spent all day yesterday packaging and taking pics of all the items for Blythecon uk. All I have left to do now are finish off all the duffle coats. I have been working like a trooper to have a nice collection for this event and I am so looking forward to meeting everyone! I will be keeping some items back to put on etsy on Sunday 3rd October for my customers who are too far away to come to Oxford. I really hope you like the theme I have chosen, it's been such fun putting things together and sourcing all the materials and supplies. I think my favourite item is the Paddington Duffle coat but I think this will be the only batch I make of these.

Jubilee

Here is the first preview of the stuff I have been working on for Blythecon uk. I spun 2 skeins of this 3 ply yarn which took AGES! Spinning 3 fine singles then plying it seemed to take an eternity. I am really pleased with the finished yarn though and its all now made into caps as part of my Rule Brittania collecion. I will launch it at Blythecon uk on the 2nd October and list items in my shop on Sunday the 3rd October for anyone who isn't going to Oxford or who lives too far away!

My fingers are sore from all the stitching, knitting, spinning and crochet they have been busy doing. I hope you will all like what they have produced :)

And it's nearly autumn!

I have a bunch of 'vintage' Polly items that I will be listing in my etsy shop today and some more Strawberry Shortcake bits and pieces on ebay. I am really enjoying getting myself more organised and tidy.
At the same time I am working so hard on my Blythecon UK collection which is building up into quite a large pile! It is getting nearer to the date and I'm getting really excited about meeting everyone.

Autumn is definitely on it's way and the nights are getting darker by the day which always means more knitting and stitching for me....Yay!!

I decided this after much thought today. I felt that listing items in my shop on a similar theme to the special set on ebay was devaluing its exclusivity. I really think if you are bidding on something OOAK then it should totally be OOAK. So we now have a 3 day auction for the whole 10 pieces in the collection! I have notified the highest bidder on the other listing who was quite happy for me to change it.

I just finished my new set 'Arsenic and old lace' for Blythe. I think this is my most favourite set I have EVER done. I have been working so long on it and I love it when it all comes together at the end :)

The set includes:
Crochet dress with high neck, grey pearl necklace with skull charm attached to the dress, net tie belt with a bottle of 'arsenic' hanging from it (well it's actually salt, but don't tell anyone as it loses its deadly charm) double layered net skirt part with applique old lace decorated with tiny beads.

Pantaloons made from silk jersey with fine crochet waistband, extra black lace layer and scallop edging and beads around the hems.

Crochet net hat with cream lace decoration, skull charm and button pin with old skeleton print on it.

Full length grey wool felted coat with pockets and high neck decorated with ribbon and sequin trim. The body of the coat is appliqued with old lace and little beads. Tiny grey pearls are stitched around the sleeve cuffs. The coat fastens with 5 vintage black buttons down the front.

This one is going on ebay next week but I will also have some other items on this theme going into the shop afterwards.

Granny Madge hat kits

Today I am listing some Granny Madge hat kits in jollypolly

Granny Madge used to make these little hats for me to decorate but recently because of illness and age her short term memory is not good and she can't remember what sizes to knit anymore. So she has decided to just knit some kitty blankets instead.

She still had a little stash of ones she had made before she went in hospital so I decided to turn them into little DIY kits for you crafty people to decorate yourselves :) The kits are 1 Blythe sized or 3 Strawberry shortcake sized and come with some bits of yarn, buttons etc to use. I also have some mohair Strawberry shortcake pixie hat that I knit myself that I have put into kits. i would love to see what you do with them :)

A Special Day

Today is the day me and my lovely husband Kev celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe how quickly the years have passed and how I love him more and more every year. I feel lucky to have found my partner in life when I was so young and I thank him for all the love, support and big belly laughs he has given me over the last quarter of a century.

I have just finished my new creations and will be listing them in the shop tomorrow. There are 3 sets with hand knittted and crocheted jacket with bell shaped sleeves and high neck, crochet net beret decorated with butterfly sequins and a little denim wrap skirt with delicate crochet edging, embroidery, flower sequins and beads and a button trim. Pretty as a picture in beautiful shades of lilac, turquoise and gold. Each set is $49 +postage. There will only be 3 of these sets.

Oh I'm so relieved it's the weekend! Work has been mad plus visiting Granny Madge and feeding animals led to a lot of stress and a lovely migraine yesterday :(
Woke up feeling glad it was Saturday!
I did manage to complete my raffle prize donation for Blythecon UK though. I am really pleased with how it turned out. I hope the lucky winner will be pleased with it too :)
I am concentrating a lot of effort on my items that will be available for sale at Blythecon UK but have managed to squeeze in some 'other' designs too which will be available for sale in the next few days. Creating makes me happy and relaxed, I must do more!

Just loaded some new yarn stash bags in jollypolly

Been a little busy the last few days as Granny Madge is in hospital recovering from very low sodium levels caused by all the tablets she was taking that the doctor had prescribed! She has been taken off all medication now except her thyroid tablets and has now been moved to a more local hospital. She is on the mend now but she had us all very worried! I'm in charge while my Mum and Dad take a well deserved break for a few days. Also I am feeding my sister's cat and rabbit while she is away too! Busy busy busy :)

Blythe Boyfriend Cardi DIY kit information

I will be selling the kit for $4 + postage which includes pattern and enough yarn for a cardi (maybe 2, that fine yarn goes a long way!)

The yarn is industrial stuff so when you knit it it will seem a little loose but will 'bloom' when it is washed and the oils come out and it will look lovely :)

I forgot to mention tension in the pattern so if you need to check this it is approx 4 sts across and 5 rows up to each 1cm square. I knit a bit loose so if you find you knit tight just go up a needle size and you should get the size ok. Some of the yarns are a bit thicker than others so the cardi varies a little in size depending on the yarn. They all look nice though :)

The KC collection

Up and coming new designs have now been finished and I am doing some preview pics for flickr. I call this the 'KC' collection as it includes both Knit and Crochet! There are some OOAK pieces and some that have been repeated.
Before I went on holiday I was searching for some new yarn to inspire me in my beach knitting...
TA DA!!!
In front of my little eyes was the most amazing sock yarn from Schoppel Wolle called Zauberball!
The colours blend beautifully and I picked 4 different colourways. Armed with my notebook and needles and hooks I flew off to Crete to contemplate the way forward.........
I like to bothknit and crochet so I felt that some designs that incorporate both crafts would be good for me. I fancied some more modern knit shapes worked in separate parts that would be joined with crochet.
I do find people stare on the beach and wonder what I am knitting, occasionally someone can't stand it any longer and have to ask me!!
Back home I finished the pieces with some tiny glass beads and my labels and got my lovely girls to do some modeling :)

Next week I have some REALLY exciting news. My friend Clare (buttons and stars) has made a special Blythe collection which I will be showcasing in my shop as a 'Guest Designer'. The pieces are so beautiful, I know you are going to love them!

Welcome back everyone! I had a wonderful holiday and filled my days with dreams of new dolly designs and ideas :)
Lots of things will to be happening in Polly's world in the next few months.
Firstly I am having a little sale in the shop...25% off all the Strawberry Shortcake Garden Party sets. Grab a little bargain while you can!

Then I will be launching DIY Blythe knitting and crochet kits, then a new Blythe Collection and some other really exciting news (still a bit of a secret!) .....I'll keep you posted as things are finalized. I am so so busy and very happy to be in my little studio again :)

Off to the beach

I'm off to the beach on Tuesday so this is my last post for a while. I have so much to do to get ready...packing...weeding...lists for Tom while we are away.....hens to clean out.....knitting to pack.....it's endless!!
I'm shutting the shop and will be back at the end of July. In the meantime have lots of fun my friends and enjoy the summer :)

Garden Party Cakes!

Today I will be listing my little Garden party sets for Strawberry Shortcakes. I am just off to finish the pics and will put them in etsy this afternoon. I have 17 of these sets so there are plenty available. They are $20 each +postage.

At the weekend I will be closing the shop for most of July as my holiday time. During this time I will be dreaming up new ideas and working hard on the beach...LOL
I have some exciting ideas already brewing so look out for me when I get back!

In the meantime my friends, enjoy the summer, relax and have fun.........

Ready for my Holiday

Well after the weekend's trauma I've picked myself up (again) dusted off the misery, put the boxing gloves back on and am ready for the next round :)

We are off on our Jollybobs (Holidays) in less than two weeks now so I have one more update for the shop before I close it for July. I must admit I'm ready for a break this year and I'm so glad I've scraped the money together. We are going to Crete again to be lazy and greedy for two whole weeks!! I won't be available to answer emails etc throughout July but rest assured I will have LOTS of new ideas and exciting things when I get back!

The update will be early next week and its all about cake!! I have some cute little sets for the Strawberry Shortcakes with a bright and summery theme :) I have made LOTS so there will be plenty to choose from. If I get them done quicker I will list them earlier.

Hope you are all having a lovely summer and lets hope for lots more sunshine to make us smile :D

One more nail in my coffin

I can't believe what is happening to me! I feel like I am being tested to see when I will crack up!!

Yesterday a dog (not the one that killed Hazel) got into our garden (how I do not know as we have blocked all the holes in the hedges - or so we thought) and killed one of our chickens. My hubby found the murdering thing in the process and chased it off but we couldn't find the other two. With the help of our nice neighbour (we do have nice ones as well as rotten ones!) we located Penny hiding in their hedge and later I found Barbara right in the middle of a very thick thorny hedge. Many scratches up my arms later we got the 2 remaining ladies back in their coop and tidied up the feathers and blood while sobbing my socks off.

Me and the hubby marched round to the dog owners house and dumped our poor dead hen at their front door only to see their stupid idiotic faces and listen to them tell us he can't have got out!! Face to face with the murderer I came very close to losing the plot and could have vented all my anger on this stupid dog owner who obviously had no idea what her dog was up to! This dog had terrorised the hens for 3 hours when we first got them, barking at their pen (luckily that time he couldn't get to them!) and the woman didn't even know he was missing!!! I would be frantic if my pet was missing!

Some people should NOT have animals.

I would not have felt quite so angry had a fox got her, as no one is responsible for wild animals. However my garden is my sanctuary from all the other rubbish I have to deal with day to day and I feel like my own private space has been violated because someone else does not care.
My head hurts and my soul is at breaking point.....please can I have a rest from all this?

R.I.P shy Sheila.....the hen who never got to lay an egg....

Razzle Dazzle etsy update

Today (around 5 pm UK time ) I am listing the Razzle Dazzle sets in my etsy shop. There are 2 identical sets in each colour, so 10 sets altogether. They will be $45 +postage and will be sent boxed so that the feathers stay in nice condition :)
The feathers have been such fun to work with and look so dramatic, like Cabaret girls!! I fancied a bit of high kicking fun after last weeks misery and these have kept my hands VERY busy! I will be crocheting some little Strawberry Shortcake sets next week for a bit of a rest for my fingers!

Still no eggs from the chickens...hubby thinks they are taking the p**s and that they are really male chickens in disguise, just out for a free lunch....LOL

Today I decided to dig around in the UFO (unfinished objects) basket. I found a heap of bits and bobs which I have finished off so I can add them to my etsy shop. I'll list them in a minute and the rest when they are complete. These will be good prices so you can bag a bargain and get some old favourite designs too. Its good to have a clearout :)

Yes, my hubby has disappeared to the pub to watch the footie and I am home alone all quiet and tidy. So I have been taking pics of the finished Razzle Dazzle sets and stitching labels on them. There will be 2 identical sets in each colour (5 colours) and I will list them next week. I am just sourcing some nice boxes to ship them in so that the feathers don't get spoiled in the post. I hope you like my flamboyant little outfits, I wanted a bit of glamour and fun for a change :)

I also have some Strawberry Shortcake customs (my last five dolls) and there won't be any more after these as I have run out of dolls to customize. I hope you like the silly names I have chosen and the little outfits.

I have a horrible hatred towards my neighbours after our horrible week and I really need to focus and divert my brain...crochet is good for this. Also wine and chocolate help!

I have immersed myself in creative stuff to heal the hurt from the weeks trauma, I find it relaxing and healing. Time will heal the rest while sweet little Hazel sleeps......

Yesterday I took a photo of my sweet little Hazel and about 9 pm last night our neighbour's dog killed her. I feel unbearably sad. Hazel had been with us for over 15 years and had a good life but to end her days like that is cruel and unfair. People should be more responsible with dogs and learn to control them better. This animal is forever escaping, never on a lead and frequently getting into our garden. (I have had to go all around our property with chicken wire to keep him from breaking in)
Hazel was streetwise and was probably just watching the world go by when this attack happened. I know cats go where they please and dogs will be dogs but people should understand more what damage dogs can actually do and the importance of a little training. The dog knew no better. The man is an idiot.

We love you Hazel RIP

Here are details of the next update:
'The Queen of Charms' set is made from some of my handspun yarn and some lovely gold charms (a tiny crown and a key included!) This set includes crochet dress and matching hat for $55 + postage.

Darling little Olivia Hootsbury, a custom Strawberry Shortcake with wild bright pink hair and a little dress set decorated with owl buttons. She has a faint mark at the side of her face (hidden by her hair most of the time) and has had her smile touched up too! She is $45 + postage.

Then there is the 'Underwater Love' collection which includes 2 OOAK dresses with net and shells and fishes and beads and shreds of green taffeta to look like seaweed! These are $30 each + postage. Then a coat design (2 plain blue 1 variegated yarn) with embroidery and felt fishes. These are $30 each + postage too. Granny Madge whipped up some lovely turquoise wool hats that I have decorated to match these items with shreds of taffeta and net and embroidery and beads. These are $18 + postage and I have 4 of them. I will have a couple more coats to come next week maybe.

I have put preview pics on flickr as usual and will list these on Friday June 4th at around 5pm.

New Special Sets

Managed to finish two very special sets today as the weather is awful!
The first one has a Hooty theme and has a crochet dress with owl trim belt and felt owl decoration. It has a sewn in net underskirt too. The coat is made from a lovely soft multicoloured yarn and fastens with an owl button at the neck. To complete this set I have made a bright pink oversized beret which has been decorated with felt laces, bobbles and buttons.
The second set has a sweet as Honey theme with a crochet wool dress, edged with gold yarn, with a sewn in gold net underskirt trimmed with an embroidered ribbon covered in bees. It has a cream ribbon belt with a vintage mother of pearl miniature buckle and fastens with a tiny mother of peral button at the back. The dress has bees and beads on the skirt. This comes with an oversized beret made from luxury gold ribbon yarn and is trimmed with a beehive, gold net, felted laces and bobbles and little bees! So sweet :)
I will be listing these and the Magical Mushroom sets later today. They are OOAK and will not be repeated (but I may make something like this for SSC too!)

The Magical Mushroom

I have had a bit of fun with a Fungi Theme! I bought some wonderful tiny felted mushrooms from woollyfabulous on etsy and have been staring at them for some time. Then on Monday evening it the design came to me! I used some dotty fabric to create a new hat design that I am really pleased with. The hat has the mushrooms danging from the ties at the sides and the dress has a tie belt with them on too. I stitched some cute toadstool buttons on too from textilegarden and ...voila!! the set was done! I'll be listing two of these on Friday along with maybe a couple of new coats if I get them finished. Its a bank holiday weekend for us here in the UK though so I won't be able to post till Tuesday next week as I can't get to the post office on a Saturday. I'm off now to finish the other set. They will be identical sets this time and only two of them. Hope you like :)

I know I have been a little preoccupied the last two weeks with Chicken stuff but I have been stitching in between too :) I have a second bunch of flowers for you for my Anniversary month which includes more coat and hat sets and more dresses. Also the Hoppiness coats and some SSC little sets.
I am pleased to announce too that Granny Madge has been knitting again!! She is getting a little frail these days and sometimes confused and bored but when I asked if she would like to make some hats again she perked up :) I bought some wonderful orgainic merino wool for her to knit with and left her to it. It really seems to have cheered her up and she is enjoying knitting immensely! I have decorated the hats with a crochet edge, crochet bell flowers and shell buttons. I have also knit a couple of cardi coats to co-ordinate with the hats.
I am hoping to take some pics today and list on Sunday evening (about 7pm UK time)
I'm off to bother the hens again now, I have them eating out my hand now!! It hasn't taken long for them to settle in and they don't even care when the cats walk past them now.

What a weekend!

After last weeks doldrums the weekend made up for it! Me and the hubby went camping and had a fab time in the Peak District (a bit cold but we snuggled up in layers of fleece!) Then when we came home the chickens arrived!!! Thanks so much to everyone who bought a Chicken Run dress, we now have 3 lovely ladies called Barbara, Sheila and Penny! They are settling in and I LOVE them already!!
To then top off a lovely weekend I had an email from Fanny to say my interview was live on her blog I was so pleased to see how she had put it together. Thanks Fanny!!!

In need of a little Hoppiness

Today I was feeling quite low and not sure how to lift myself out of the doldrums until.....the postie came with some cute new buttons!!! I had the perfect green coats all knit up so made some little lilypads and got stitching! So I spread a little 'Hoppiness' around and brought a smile to my miserable face :)
I will list them withe the other batch of Flower Garden sets when they are ready. I am trying to relax a bit so I may not get them done this week. I will send an email out when they are all ready to list.
Chicken News!!
They are expected to arrive by this weekend (though I am not holding my breath, they are like rocking horse poo!) I will obviously be taking lots of pics when they get here!!

May Flowers

First of all THANK YOU to everyone who bought a Chicken Run dress! We have paid for the coop and run and have ordered 3 hens which we are still waiting for. I'm so excited and will keep you posted when the ladies arrive :)

May is my Anniversary month and this year is my 3rd year of making dolly clothes! I have enjoyed myself so much so I must thank all my lovely customers over the last 3 years for allowing me to do what I love! To celebrate this I give you all FLOWERS! The Flower Garden collection will be up for sale starting this coming week. I have slouchy cardigan coats from a beautiful merino/silk/cashmere blend with matching berets and pretty as a posy little dresses with lace skirts. All have tiny crochet flowers and fabric leaves to decorate them. I have lots of pretty spring colours to delight your dollies. I will list a few each week as they are completed.

The garden is coming on a treat, everything is growing (including the weeds!!) Hopefully we will be munching on some fresh produce in the next few weeks :) All the hard work is done and now we just have to tidy up the BBQ area and we are all set for summer (PLEASE lets hope we get a good one!)

Here's a sneaky peek at the Chicken Run dresses. All money made on these will go to pay for my new chicken run and hens. I have always wanted a couple of chickens and thought this year (after such an awful time business wise) me and the hubby would take our minds on a holiday and concentrate on the garden and getting some hens. Nothing like fresh air and hard work to cure stress! Anyway...here is a preview, more to come and listing next week sometime. They will be $25 each + postage and you will be able to see where your money has been spent as I take pics through the summer (and hopefully eat a few tasty eggs!)

Just listed a few stash bags and some fine yarn for dolly knitting. I have lots more of this so will be winding some more later this week. Also working on some little dresses for a good cause....my new chicken coop!!! I have ordered it and need to raise some funds to pay for it and the hens. Do you think there may be a little theme to the dresses?? You would be so right! Previews coming as soon as they are finished :).........collection name....'Chicken Run' maybe...LOL!!!
I also have my 3rd year Anniversary coming soon and will have a pretty little collection for that. All that crocheting and digging the veg plot are making Polly one tired little lady!
Now...what names can I give the hens......Kiev? Korma? Chasseur???

Bird in a Cage sets and Tuesday update

I will have 2 of these sets to sell on Tuesday 13th April. I made them with some lovely feather trim and great buttons I bought from Laura at shedraws . I also used her buttons on the cuppa tea and cake dresses. She makes the most amazing jewelry too :)
These sets will be $45 each + postage and include hat and dress.
The Cuppa tea sets will be same price for hat and dress sets and $30 for just the dress. I have 3 hat and dress sets and 3 separate dresses.
The Handspun Happy Coats will be $30 and I have 2 of these and the hat is $20 and I have 1. I have run out of that yarn now and only have a bit of fine single ply neon left. The 2 ply worked much better and the colours came out so bright!
I also have 6 little berets made from the soya and bamboo yarns I have been using recently. These are $10 each.
I have a few cream felted overalls in process and depending on how much time I get these may be ready for the update too.

My other shop is up and running now where I will be selling crafty supplies straight from my stash. I may also sell some other non dolly items there too :)

The weather has just started to get better here so I will also be busy in the veg patch sowing seed like a maniac. We have just made some new raised beds and things are coming on a treat!

Stash Scarf Instructions

Here's the pattern for the stash scarf. Please tell if me if it's understandable or not as I make up my own patterns and never usually write legible stuff down...lol

Stash Scarf Pattern

Using 15mm needles and 6 to 8 strands of different weight yarns:
cast on 4 sts

Knit 1 row
*Knit all 4 sts, wrapping yarn around needle twice as you go.
Knit all 4 sts again going through the first wrap only and letting the other yarn drop creating a ‘long’ st.
Repeat from * until you scarf is the length you want.

To finish you scarf you can either stitch the ends together like I did to create a loop scarf or just weave your loose ends in and have like a conventional scarf.

Decorate with crochet flowers and buttons J
(many patterns for crochet flowers can be found on the internet or I can supply if you ask)

Just finished a new little mini dress design today. I wanted something colourful and springlike that would look good with tights, bare legs, leggings or jeans. I like the finished effect and the butterflies and flowers add a spring like touch! These will be available this friday in the shop. I am having to sit a lot with Stan at the moment so getting some serious crochet time :)

Poor Stanley Again!

Yesterday Stan had to have ANOTHER operation! His hip was not healing properly so he had to have a femoral head removal. Sounds terrible but apparently works well so we are keeping out fingers crossed this time! Reached the limit on the insurance claim so the credit card got melted and Stan is home, purring and being fussed by his Mummy :)
Looks like the bedroom refurbish will have to wait...LOL
Poor baby is shaved AGAIN (he was just growing some fluff!) But here is is (a little blurred as he wouldn't move into good lighting for me!)

A new Handspun set for the shop

I have just finished a new set made from my own handspun yarn. Its Falkland wool and so soft and light, I think its my favourite yarn I made yet! I spun a 2 play yarn and also made a coiled and fluffy bobble yarn to match it which I have knit into a hat band. I also had enough yarn to make an extra hat crocheted slouchy with some felt balls I bought from a great etsy seller woollyfabulous
I will be listing it later along with a berry soya cardigan, a baby alpaca hat and a bright red bamboo cardigan. I am feeling a bit better now so I am busy trying to fulfill all the orders I have so I can bring you some new things :)

I don't like to get myself overwhelmed as I do have a day job too which is demanding enough. Anyone who has orders with me rest assured I am working hard to get them done :)

Fed up and feeling rubbish so I'm lying on the sofa with stan curled up in a ball on my knee. Hope that I feel better in the morning, stan doesn't care really, he likes it when I lie down!!

Just having a little rest this week as I have a sore and stiff shoulder. I am slowly working on orders still though! I so wish the weather would warm up a bit so we could get outside and stop shivering!

Felted Goodies

I am busy felting some goodies ready for a shop update. I will be listing capes, pinafores (jumpers to my friends in the US!) and overalls (or dungarees!) I will have a good few ready for this coming Tuesday (Feb 23rd) and more for the following week. I will list randomly through Tuesday (in between cleaning and doing laundry!) Prices will be $30 for the capes $30 for the overalls and $25 for the pinafores. The overalls and pinafores are very roomy around the body so you could easily fit a sweater underneath them (or store cakes for when she gets the munchies!) All items will be different as usual :)

A Busy Day

Today my little hands have been buzzing like bee's wings :D
I have finished a few orders and made some stuff for the shop in between checking on dear little Stanley who is getting quite good at doing a hop, skip and a jump round the house!
Going to send some emails now and list these few things. I also finished a new design whcih I am quite happy with. I'll put some preview pics on flickr too and see what everyone else thinks :)
It's knit and felted overalls which I know sound bizarre but I think work quite well. I made them with cuffs at the bottom to be pushed up and worn with boots. I ahve some more felted items coming soon too.
I bought some beautiful 100% soya yarn which I have made into cardi/coats and have ordered more colours as well.
I have plans to make some cake stuff soon as long as nothing else crops up!

Nice to have a day to myself.....

After the birthday weekend

Well things have settled down now after a busy weekend celebrating my birthday and my hubby's too! Had a lovely lunch in Nottingham with my son Tom and his girlfriend Jess and looking forward to a nice evening by the fire :)
Came up with some new ideas, trying to get on top of orders and accounts and wondering when I might get a bit of time to watch my new Paddington DVD's that Tom bought me :)
I think this week will be a 'catch up' one!

All the sales from Friday have been packed and sent on Monday, I do hope my customers will be pleased!

Stan is doing well and walking better each day, he is such a lucky kitty!

I am going to be listing my new bits and bobs on Friday 5th February (my birthday! Yay!) It will be around 5ish after I have taken Stanley to the vets to have his stitches out. He will be so pleased to not wear that collar anymore! I have a few different things, some hats, some cardi's and some sets. Prices will vary depending on the yarn and wether its from my own handspun or commercial stuff. I haven't got quite as much finished as I had hoped due to being Nurse Jane to Stan but I'm sure you'll agree it will be worth it when he's running up trees again (NOT playing with cars!)
Anyone who is still waiting for orders, please bear with me, I have not forgotten :)

New set complete and ready for my birthday update on Friday. I'll be putting details of prices etc on here in the next couple of days and finishing off a few more things.
Stanley update...he's doing well, sleeping A LOT and getting lots of LOVE! Vet appointment tomorrow to check he is still OK and stitches out later in the week. He just needs time now I think. He is one hell of a lucky cat!

My kitty has been hit by a car AGAIN! Poor Stanley just won't learn how dangerous the road is :(
Waiting for the vet to sort out surgery for him and hoping he will be OK. Spent all day waiting for phone and knitting. I seem to knit faster when I am stressed!
He already has pins in this leg and now he has broken the ankle and maybe his pelvis again. Poor poor Stanley.
*sigh*

Here is my finished skein of rainbow handspun. I am so pleased with how it came out! Now I can't wait to have a knit with it :D
